Google Launches Gemini Enterprise: AI for the Modern Workplace
On October 9, 2025, Google officially unveiled Gemini Enterprise– a new AI platform aimed squarely at business users and organisations, designed as “the new front door for AI in the workplace.”
The idea behind Gemini Enterprise is simple: instead of using different AI tools for different jobs, companies can now use one connected platform. It brings together Google’s powerful Gemini models (which can understand text, images, and code) and connects them with a company’s own data and apps.
So instead of just chatting with an AI assistant, employees can use Gemini Enterprise to search company documents, analyse data, write reports, summarize long emails, or even automate repetitive tasks- all in one place.
How Gemini Enterprise Works
- Building Custom AI Agents
Companies can create their own AI “agents”, basically digital assistants that can do specific jobs. For example, one agent might handle customer questions, another could summarize meeting notes, and another could help with data reports. You don’t need to be a coder to make them; Google built a simple, no-code design tool so anyone in the company can set one up. - Pre-Made AI Helpers
Google also provides ready-to-use agents for common office tasks like doing research, analysing numbers, or helping with programming. Businesses can use these straight away or tweak them for their needs. - Works with Company Data
One of the biggest benefits is that Gemini Enterprise connects directly with tools businesses already use, like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and other databases. This means the AI can give answers based on the company’s actual documents and data, not just public information from the web. - Safe and Private
Since this is aimed at companies, Google built in strong safety, privacy, and control features. Managers can decide who can create or use AI agents, what data they can access, and keep logs for security checks.
Early Results and Real-World Use
Even though Gemini Enterprise is brand new, big companies have already started using it; early partners include Gap, Figma, Virgin Voyages, Klarna, and Macquarie Bank.
Google says that about 65% of its business customers are already using some kind of AI tool. Gemini Enterprise is designed to bring all of those tools together under one roof. Pricing starts at around $21 per user per month, with more advanced business plans costing up to $30.
Outside of business, the Gemini platform itself has grown quickly- web traffic went up 46% between August and October 2025, reaching more than 1.1 billion visits a month, showing strong interest from users around the world.
Why It Matters
Gemini Enterprise puts Google in direct competition with Microsoft’s Copilot and OpenAI’s enterprise tools. Its biggest advantage is Google’s ability to connect everything- from AI models to data and apps- inside one secure system.
If it works as promised, Gemini Enterprise could save employees hours every week by automating routine work and helping them find answers faster. Still, success will depend on how well Google can keep data secure, make the tools easy for non-tech users, and prove real business value.
